a.Energy efficient appliances usage are replacing conventional appliances


For example, replacing traditional T8 lighting fixtures with high efficiency T5 lighting fixtures, and also replacing the emergency exit lighting with LED lights.

Description:


Take the library lighting fixtures as an example, as there is a large quantity of lights and the library opening hours is up to 98 hours per week, replacing the existing lightings with high efficiency T5 lights can not only improve lighting quality, but also achieve energy conservation. The replacement of 2,347 40W and 20W traditional T8 lights in the library and the gymnasium can achieve an annual power saving of 280,000 kWh, which results in $850,000 in electricity savings and reduces CO2 emission by approximately 152 tons per year.

Description:


By adopting the principle of low-carbon and energy conservation, internet and cloud technologies are applied based on empirical field specifications and user requirements, a web-based platform is used for the integration and smart-management of energy, water resources, campus management and security and hazard prevention. Power consumption and demand monitoring are recorded at real-time in order to understand the power consumption status of each building.

Description:


In response to government's renewable energy programs and to create a green, energy-saving, and low-carbon enrivonment, YunTech has created a comprehensive, green-sustaining and environmentally-friendly campus. Our team has outlined energy saving management programs, worked vigorously to secure budget for energy-saving facilities, and established thorough electricity monitoring and conservation systems on campus. In addition to these efforts, we have also worked with non-government organizations on applying rooftop spaces for solar power generation, which allows us to utilize school assets at its utmost efficiency. The rooftop areas of the northern campus are leased to vendors for the installation of solar energy generation system with a capacity of 495.88kWp. As illustrated in the chart, the total power capacity generated between 2013 and June 2019 has exceeded3.30 million kWh with an annual average production capacity of 508,935kWh. Moreover, this establishment has also provided additional rooftop heat obstruction benefits. The total estimated revenue from lease and electricity sale for 20 years is approximately $15 million.

In 7 YunTech had an annual power consumption of 18,059,200 kWh, which is 221,600 kWh less than the 2017 annual consumption with an energy saving rate of 1.23%.

Description:


Our school has 41 schoolhouses (including one is under construction); four of which were built after the year of 1999 and the project costs reached up to 50 million shall apply for Green Building Labels. Currently, there are three buildings acquiring Green Building Labels (Management Building 3, Design Building 3 and Engineering Teaching Building),and the constructing Industry-Academic-Research Building has already obtained a Diamond-Level Green Building Candidate Certificate, acquisition ratio is 80%.
